My good friend Todd Falcone sent this my way, and when an industry leader with 20+ years of experience speaks…I listen. Here’s what he had to say:
How to GROW your BUSINESS During the Summer!
Here’s a fact. Most people lay back during the summer. Kids are out of school, weather is good, it is light much later. People are out and about.
A LOT of people use the summer as an EXCUSE for not working their business.
LIFE DOES NOT STOP because it’s 80 degrees outside. Business still happens. People STILL need to make money…even you!
Any excuse or distraction is equal to all other excuses and distractions.
Do you want your business to GROW or diminish over the next three months of summer?
My guess is that you probably want it to grow, right?
If so…then there are VERY SPECIFIC THINGS YOU CAN DO to ensure that you both GROW your business as well as ENJOY your SUMMER! How’s that for fun!
One thing you DON’T want to do is put your business aside. Why? The work you do over the next three months are going to determine where you are by Fall and as we move into Winter. If you lay back now, you’re business will suffer because of it.
BUILDING A BOOMING BUSINESS THIS SUMMER. Ready? Here’s what you do and what you need to keep in mind:
- Summer doesn’t mean life stops. In fact, barbecues, vacations and other activities can put you in front of more people. REMEMBER, you have a BUSINESS that can change the quality of someone’s life forever. Don’t forget to open your mouth and talk about it.
- Vacations create opportunities. I know you will probably take a vacation this summer. You should! The weather is great. However…just because you are on vacation does not mean you close your doors. Remember this. You are an entrepreneur, not a 9 to 5er. Entrepreneurs have no schedule. That means you can and SHOULD be recruiting and talking to people…even when you are taking time off. Oh. Does that make sense? Yes…it does, especially if you want to be a SUCCESSFUL network marketer operating a highly PROFITABLE business. Don’t worry. Your vacation won’t be over just because you make a few calls or contacts. You can squeeze them in!
- Strike while the sun is hot! Since you are one of my readers, I’m sure you aren’t going to do what most (average) people do…take a bunch of time off and do nothing. While all the average people are doing nothing this summer, you can strike while they are all sitting on their rear ends. It makes building your business even easier. Less competition!
- Work and play, play and work. I live in Seattle. It rains 9 months out of the year. You don’t think when it is sunny…like it is today that I don’t want to just run out of here and go to the beach? Of course I do! BUT…running a business carries with it RESPONSIBILITY. What that means is because you are a responsible business professional, you can easily work, then play, then work some more, then play some more. Learn to BALANCE play and work. You’ll smile a lot more, have a good tan, and have a bigger check!
- Don’t buy into BS excuses from weak people. Let me share this with you. In the 20 years I have done this, I have ALWAYS been able to build my business in the summer months. YES. It may be a bit more difficult to catch people or catch their attention, but there are LOTS AND LOTS of people that are looking for an answer to their prayers. The economy is creating HUGE opportunity for us, don’t forget it. Some people around you may say things like “I can’t reach anyone” or “Everyone is on vacation” or “No one wants to talk to me because it is hot outside”. Again…those are ALL EXCUSES. SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE GET RESULTS. THEY DO NOT MAKE EXCUSES FOR ANYTHING, EVER, AT ANY TIME!
- Focus on your Producers BIG TIME ! The old phrase “Work where you are deserved, not where you are needed” takes on an even bigger meaning during summer months. Focus your time on helping further develop those individuals in your group that are DOING THINGS. The ones that are making excuses, sitting on their butt, complaining or simply doing nothing are not worth working with. You will grow your business faster by doing two things A) Recruiting new people, and B) Working with those in your group that are already doing.
K…I’m going for a swim, then guess what? I’ll be back in the office! What a novel idea. You mean Todd plays and works in the same day? Yep!
See you Monday night!!!
Wishing you the Very Best!
