A Little Girl Who Believed

Kody Bateman, CEO of SendOutCards® writes a wonderful story in his book Promptings: Your Inner Guide to Making a Difference about a little girl who believed.

In this holiday season, I wanted to share this with you.

A Little Girl Who Believed

by Kody Bateman

“My father tells a story from the days when I was very young.  Our family would travel to the mountains and cut down our Christmas tree every year.  On one of these occasions we found the perfect Christmas tree, cut it down, strapped it to the top of the family car, ande drove home.  When we returned, we got out of the car only to find that the tree was no longer on top of the car. Somewhere on the way our perfect tree had fallen from the car.  My father decided to drive back down the road to see if he could find it.

About four miles away he noticed a spot in the road where it looked as if a tree had fallen.  He also noticed that someone had dragged the tree from the road up a sidewalk, and into a home at the side of the road.

My dad walked up and knocked on the door.  A young and excited girl answered.  My dad asked if her parents were home.

She said “Yes, but they are busy.”  Then, in her excitement, she said “And guess what just happened?”

With surprise my dad asked “What?”

“Our family knelt down and said a prayer asking God to bring us a Christmas tree”, she said.  “My daddy lost his job so we could not afford to buy one this year.  When we finished our prayer, I got up and looked out our front window, and there was a beautiful Christmas tree lying at our front curb!”  With tears in her eyes, the little girl said “Now we can have a wonderful Christmas”.

You see, miracles do happen.  Prayers are answered.  Santa is real.  Goodness is in abundant supply.  The girl in this story had amazing faith.  She truly believed God would deliver her family a Christmas tree, and look what happened.”

To your success,
Dr. Laura
