31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 15 – A Card A Day

Yesterday, I did plan out groupings of the things I usually do as part of my Modular Day.  You can see my Task Worksheet that I created, and then I used the information to create index cards.  Those index cards are for me to flip through daily, much like my children flip through their “chorepacks” – doing one item at a time, until they are all completed.

One thing I noticed when I was doing the Modular Day planning, was that I had gotten away from one of the most positive things that I used to do – sending a heartfelt card a day to someone to let them know how much I appreciate them, wishing them a happy birthday or anniversary, or just to say “Hi!”.

Sending these heartfelt and usually unexpected cards gives me a great feeling.  So, today’s goal is to reinstate that daily activity and send a card a day.

Today, I sent my card to Kody Bateman, CEO of SendOutCards® (the service I use that makes it possible to send a card a day and have fun with it instead of having it be a stressful experience).  He wrote the book, Promptings, which was one of the four books I was reading.  I’m excited to say that last night I finished the book.  I felt prompted to send him a card, and vowed that he would be my heartfelt card for today.

This morning I woke up and had several family things to do, but later today, I did send Kody that card, and yes, it was a great feeling to hit the send button and know that a real printed card will show up in his mailbox in a few days.  I wonder why I ever slipped in this area, because really it brings me great joy to send these cards (and at 62 cents plus postage, it’s not that expensive either!), and I know it brings joy to the recipient too (having been on the receiving end several times, as well as getting phone calls from those I have sent cards to letting me know of their impact).

I was on a roll today, and sent not ONE card, but THREE cards – Kody’s card, a birthday card and an anniversary card.  And, what’s great, is that this only took me about 5 minutes.  So, I’ve put Sending A Heartfelt Card at the beginning of each day so that I can begin on a positive note.

I’m also excited to report that I am nearly finished with last weekend’s projects, having worked on them again today, and will do some more work tomorrow.  It’s a great feeling to get things accomplished!  I would have been done already, but I took advantage of our good weather to take down the Christmas lights outside today.  Don’t laugh – we have to wait until the snow melts to take down the lights, for safety, so they stay up about 5 months of the year!

Until tomorrow…

To your success,

Dr. Laura

P.S.  If you want an inspirational book that has practical applications and stories about the Law of Attraction in work, as well as just a good positive uplifting book, I would highly recommend Kody Bateman’s book, Promptings.
