I’ve been reading over at MoneySavingMom.com (one of my favorite blogs for some great deals), and she recently had a Clear Out The Clutter Challenge.
Well, as you can imagine, as I was looking at her before and after pictures, I was impressed, and inspired. Inspired enough to look around and notice that I need my own “spring cleaning”. So, next week the children are on spring break and we are going to have our very own Clear Out The Clutter Challenge Week!
Now, normally, I would not suggest that you try to declutter your entire home in a week, but it seems like a perfect project for us for spring break, so we’ll give it a go. When you declutter your home, you might choose to do one area a week – or you can just go crazy like us and do it all in a week!
So, in addition to staining the porch this weekend and putting in our garden next week, we are full steam ahead on our Clear Our The Clutter Challenge Week! I’ll be posting every day to let you know what we’ve done, and I’d love to hear if you are decluttering too! Wait until you see some of my before and after pics – I’ll be honest, I’m in kind of one of those “unorganized” phases (yes, even people who train and coach on organization sometimes have off days…or weeks), so this challenge will be a breath of fresh air!
I have several areas I want to tackle:
- The office – this is a priority because business happens here! And, when it’s organized, I get more done in my businesses!
- The DVD collection – this needs to be weeded out!
- The garage – yikes!
- The playroom (well, really all the toys!)
- The laundry room
- All closets
Well, that list will keep me busy all week, I am sure! And, when I’m done, I’ll be listing a bunch on CraigsList to make some moolah! I’m so excited I can hardly wait, but first to stain and put in the garden…
To your success,
Dr. Laura
P.S. You know, clutter is one of the biggest hindrances to success – it bogs you down mentally, physically, emotionally – and when you take time to clean up the clutter, you will also experience a higher level of productivity.
