As I have been reading through the Bible in 90 Days, there have been some eye-opening moments for sure! And, my heart has been burdened for several things. So, I’ve decided to do a 3 day fast. I’ve fasted before (a great book is Fasting by Jentezen Franklin) and I fast only for spiritual reasons.
Fasting, for me, is a time of denying one’s self, and coming before the Lord, laying all of your troubles at His feet. Every time my stomach growls, I pray. Every time I think of food, I pray. Every time I prepare food for my family, I pray.
So, I have several major burdens in my heart right now that I will be praying for this time around.
If you feel led to, I would appreciate your prayers.
In the past, as I have fasted, the Lord has indeed moved mightily, and I am praying for the same this time as well. That He may be glorified.
And so you may be wondering what does CLEAN have to do with fasting?
As you might be aware, I completed a few weeks of the CLEAN program last month, and felt very good. In the interim, I went on a trip, where I ate probably 80% CLEAN, and felt good overall, and then came home, where I dropped to about 30% CLEAN for about the last week.
I can tell you with complete certainty now that something I have been eating is upsetting me. I am not sure what it is, as often when I have not felt great, there have been more than one food categories that could be the culprit. One high on my list is gluten. But, alas, I was not re-introducing only one food at a time, so I can’t know for sure.
So, following the 3 day fast, I will be doing the 21 days of the CLEAN program again. This time, I am 100% committed to following through and finding out once and for all what is causing the digestive problems.
Instead of starting with the elimination diet, since it has been less than 2 weeks off the CLEAN program, and I will just be coming off the 3 day fast, I’m just going to skip the elimination part this time and jump right in to the CLEAN program. However, if you are thinking about doing the CLEAN program, I would highly recommend that you do the elimination diet for a few days prior to starting CLEAN. I believe easing in the way I did the first round helped me have no adverse side effects from doing CLEAN. Remember the elimination diet is not a diet at all, it is simply eliminating all of the common allergen foods from your meals.
I’ll keep you posted on round 2!
To your success,

Wow, girl that is serious! I’ll be praying for you! That is some strong will power, but you can do it!
Nicole
Thanks Nicole. Day 1 is almost done of the fast, and I love the closeness I feel to God during a fast. Lots of praying going on here, so thanks for your prayers too!
