Because of the holiday this week, I didn’t get to finish the storage closets (although I am almost there), partly because there were things “hiding” in there…if you know what I mean…but I did get to do a bunch of shredding and narrowed down my digitizing pile!

Perhaps you have noticed that “digitizing files” was really high on my list (below), yet it was not done yet.  There was actually several good reasons why this turned out to be for the best.

Originally, I was just continuing to add to the pile of things to be scanned, and I wanted to do it all at once.  So I waited as I cleaned more and found more things to scan.

But then the waiting just turned into lazyness, but I also kept adding to the pile.  Hmmm…

However, this turned out to be a good thing after all (I guess one of the only times when procrastination has been a blessing), because when I was revisiting areas again, I came back to the box of things that I had put aside to scan and realized that I really did not even need to scan most of it.

Now, that is more reasonable, and will hardly take me any time at all to scan.  I still need to actually scan it, but since I’m packing and moving, I may save that until later.  At least I know I don’t have to move all that paper!

Which brings me to the second thing I did this week.  Shredding.

In cleaning out the smaller storage closet, I found lots of boxes with receipts from an old business of mine.  Eleven years of receipts to be exact, none of which I need again.  So I gathered up all of those boxes and my papers tossed from the scan pile and headed off to the bank.

I am blessed that my bank has an area for customers to put papers so SecureShred comes and takes them away and poof!  All done!  This is such an amazing time saver, because I can’t even imagine how long it would take me to shred so many boxes of papers.  Check out my shred pile:

It did take three different trips to the bank (I filled the containers on the first trip, and then filled them again on the second one too), but now I just have a bunch of empty boxes!  Perfect for packing

In the selling arena, I sold 5 more things on Amazon, 10 items to local buyers, and donated 67 VHS tapes to the local library!!  WHEW!

• Donated/Given: 67 items
• Sold: 15 items
