Frugal Friday – A Frugal Christmas

The leaves are changing colors here in Vermont, and with temperatures getting cooler, I am looking ahead to Christmas.

I know what you are thinking – it’s still three months away!

Well, I do like to prepare ahead, but this year it was even more important.

Earlier this year, I started a 31 Goals in 31 Days Challenge, modeled after my brother’s journey with 100 Goals in 100 Days.  One of those goals was to have a frugal homemade Christmas.  So, back in March, I began working on several projects.

There are three main families, and . . . → Read More: Frugal Friday – A Frugal Christmas

31 Goals in 31 Days – The Recap

What an amazing adventure the 31 Goals in 31 Days Challenge has been!  I have been able to accomplish many things, and while some others are still “works in progress”, overall it was a great experience both personally and in my businesses.

I thought I would recap each of the 31 days so this will be a bit of a long post, and I’ll also let you know how I’m doing now toward these goals and what the outcome was.  So, here we go…

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 31 – Come Home

WOW!  I can hardly believe it has been 31 days since I started the 31 Goals in 31 Days Challenge.  What a wonderful experience!!  I would encourage everyone to go through a challenge like this for yourself!  It is amazing what you learn along the way.  I’ll be posting a recap of the 31 days tomorrow, but on to today’s final goal…

Throughout this challenge I have been in awe at how many times along the way my priorities and activities have been confirmed.  While I have gotten many new goals accomplished in the past 31 days, both personally . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 31 – Come Home

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 30 – Onward and Upward

As I was power washing again today for many hours, I was again reflecting on life, business, family and many other things.  And the thing that I kept coming back to today is perseverance.

Life in general can be hard, but when we are in a time of testing or hardships, when the prospect you thought for sure would sign up for your team falls through, when you sit down to make phone calls and get interrupted by “Moooommmmmyyy!”, when something doesn’t go the way you want it to go, when your host calls to cancel her show for . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 30 – Onward and Upward

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 29 – Love and Forgiveness

Since today is a weekend again, I started out by thinking which weekend project I could complete. From last time, I did finish the downstairs ceiling (as well as cleaning the entire basement), and I am nearly finished with painting the sliding door (just need to scrape paint off the window and put back together). But, I couldn’t help but start another weekend project, simply because we had 80 degree weather, which, by the way, was a record-breaking temperature today! So, I went outside.

My project for today was to power wash the entire deck and walkway. My wonderful . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 29 – Love and Forgiveness

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 28 – Write an Article

I am so excited to be speaking on an upcoming Networking University Webinar on May 5th and so today’s goal was to write an article on the topic for my webinar, which is “Organize for Success: Increase Productivity and Profit by Managing Your Time and Space”.

I also put together the powerpoint presentation for the webinar, so I’m all set.

The great news is that YOU can attend my webinar for FREE!  So, go on over to Networking University and register today (NOTE: the webinar is over, but you can access the recording as well as the article HERE)!  . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 28 – Write an Article

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 27 – Streamline and Simplify

In just about everything I do, I am for simplifying.  I love decluttering, and reducing stress and chaos.  I also aim for the same simplification in my business, and I am always looking for ways to streamline.  This allows me to get more done in less time.

As you may know, the internet is full of wonderful information, and it can also be overwhelming, especially for people (like me) who use the internet to market their company, or generate leads for their network marketing business or direct sales business.

Let me ask you,

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 26 – The Legacy Drawer

This morning I was wondering what my goal would be today, and as I was checking my email, I came across Dave Ramsey’s latest email newsletter.  I’m a BIG fan of Dave’s, having transformed my financial picture thanks to his envelope system, his book Total Money Makeover and Financial Peace University, which my husband and I watched a few years ago.  So, I always pay attention when Dave tells me to do something, as he is usually right on the money…no pun intended.

This morning’s email brought back to mind a concept that he mentions in Financial Peace University, . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 26 – The Legacy Drawer

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 25 – Stop Working!

Catchy title, huh?  Makes you kind of wonder what today’s goal is about exactly.  Well, it’s about boundaries.  It’s about stopping work when it is time to.  The best part of being my own boss is that I get to work when I want, and the worst part of being my own boss is that I get to work when I want!

Often, the line between personal and business blurs, so that you find yourself working “all the time”.  Really, that’s not the case, but you may be thinking about your business while doing something with your family, or . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 25 – Stop Working!

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 24 – Be Optimistic!

I would like to think that I am an optimistic person, but unfortunately, I often view the glass as half empty instead of half full.

There is research that indicates that optimistic people are happier and live longer.  In the article “Optimistic People Live Longer” they suggest 10 strategies to increase optimism:

1) Practice Gratitude. A grateful mindset exerts a powerful influence on your outlook. Not only does it make you feel good in the moment, it also shifts your focus in a positive direction. Turn your attention toward your blessings and keep it there. As you focus more . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 24 – Be Optimistic!
