One of the most important things that you can do to ensure that you will have a successful business is to have consistency. Consistency in doing the basics of your business. Consistency in showing people a business presentation (for those in network marketing) every day, or doing a home show (for those in direct sales) at least once a week.
For myself, personally, since I have both a network marketing business and a direct sales business, I do both business presentations and home shows.
Each week I have a goal of doing one business presentation a day for . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 22 – Consistency

Ahhh…all of the hard work has finally caught up to me. After working on weekend projects, organizing, decluttering, reading books, calling prospects, working my businesses, recording videos, editing web pages, making gifts, and just accomplishing a LOT of stuff in the past 20 days, I am tired. Happy and productive, but tired (really, this is my own fault, as I have not been sticking to my bedtime).
So, today’s goal is simple. Relax and recharge. I’m going to do something relaxing every week. Whether that is taking a luxurious bubble bath while listening to Beethoven, or taking a . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 21 – Relax and Recharge

Today’s goal is all about organizing. I love to organize, declutter, simplify! So much so that I have noticed that many items on my Master To Do List are organization related.
You may remember that I pulled all of my weekend project ideas out to create a sublist within my Master To Do List, so that it would be easier to see what needs to be done more immediately. Well, now that all of the projects are off the list, I’ve noticed that probably half of what remains is organization related.
So, today’s goal is to pull those . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 20 – Organize

Today I am feeling a little sluggish. I know it’s really for two reasons. 1) Not enough sleep. I’ve deviated from my bedtime because I am working on finishing up a video training series, and so I’m burning the midnight oil. I’ve still been doing some wind down activities like reading before bedtime, but the entire bedtime has shifted much later. I am trying to take a 30 minute cat nap during the day, so that is helping. 2) Not enough water. That’s the focus of today’s goal.
I know water is good for you. I do. But, . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 19 – Water, Tea, and Soda…Oh My!

Well, I guess I put this goal off as long as I could. Today is about adding exercise. My idea of exercise is really keeping up with the kids, cleaning, and organizing. And, while all of those things DO provide a level of exercise, I need to do something more regularly.
I’ve recently been to the orthopedic doc about my knee. I have chronic pain in my knee that comes and goes, and seems to be related to the fact that I sat in a strange way for 4 years many moons ago when I worked in customer . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 18 – Exercise

I am a big Norman Vincent Peale fan, and one of my favorites is The Power of Positive Thinking. Actually, I’m just a big fan of thinking positively in general. There are a few ways that I incorporate positive thinking into my day.
First, I love positive affirmations. These are statements that are your goals written in the present tense, as though you had already completed them. There can be no negative words used either (like debt). These are best read every morning and every evening. I’ve gotten away from this routine a bit, but I noticed that . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 17 – The Power of Positive Thinking

Today’s goal has a bit of a long-term effect. It’s to have a mostly homemade Christmas. Now, this idea came to mind for three reasons: 1) I love to do crafts and activities and so do my children, 2) it’s less expensive, and 3) it’s often more appreciated than something purchased at the store “just because”.
I’ve recently gone through some of my stash of craft projects (in order, of course, thanks to the banker’s boxes in the closet), and picked out several projects that I would like to make for friends and family. Combined with a few . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 16 – A Homemade Christmas

Yesterday, I did plan out groupings of the things I usually do as part of my Modular Day. You can see my Task Worksheet that I created, and then I used the information to create index cards. Those index cards are for me to flip through daily, much like my children flip through their “chorepacks” – doing one item at a time, until they are all completed.
One thing I noticed when I was doing the Modular Day planning, was that I had gotten away from one of the most positive things that I used to do – . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 15 – A Card A Day

Recently, my brother wrote a post about creating a Modular Day for his 100 Goals in 100 Days Challenge. This got me thinking. Long ago, and before children, I actually did follow what he was suggesting by creating a Modular Day (although I didn’t call it that).
Today, as my goal, I’m going to revisit this concept, because having a list of things to do in certain times during your day, a routine of sorts, makes it easier to accomplish what you need to do and also speeds up the process since you already know what comes next, . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 14 – Modular Day

I am a night owl by nature, but after having children, have been forced to wake up early. Now there is much to do in the morning, and the days of sleeping in are a fond memory of mine.
The problem lies in the fact that I like to work at night, and get a lot accomplished then, so it’s hard for me to shut down and go to bed. I’m always thinking about “just one more thing” that could be done. (Now, don’t get the wrong idea, I don’t work every night!)
This, of course, makes for . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 13 – Night Night
