I am a night owl by nature, but after having children, have been forced to wake up early. Now there is much to do in the morning, and the days of sleeping in are a fond memory of mine.
The problem lies in the fact that I like to work at night, and get a lot accomplished then, so it’s hard for me to shut down and go to bed. I’m always thinking about “just one more thing” that could be done. (Now, don’t get the wrong idea, I don’t work every night!)
This, of course, makes for a . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 13 – Night Night

Today’s goal is all about creating or revising your dream board. But first…
Several hours and three coats of paint later, I finished painting the master bedroom sliding door last night. And reinstalled the blinds so that my wonderful husband can sleep past sunup. (I, of course being a mother, can fall asleep anywhere and sleep through broad daylight, children playing, etc.) Now, I just have to clean and paint the screen door and this project will be finished. Good thing too, because although I like painting, I’m not too fond of painting doors.
Yesterday, I did do a . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 12 – The Dream Board

Ugh…today’s goal is a hard one, but one that is ultimately for the best. Unfortunately, I love fast food. My favorites are McDonald’s and Taco Bell. We are not exactly “close” to either (remember…rural living), so often I visit when I am out running errands and doing other things in the area.
Well, life was good until this past Friday. As part of our “pizza and movie” night, we watched the movie Food, Inc. Well, let me tell you that now I know too much about where my food comes from (which is probably good and bad all at . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 11 – Farewell Taco Bell

Since I began the 31 Goals in 31 Days Challenge, several have asked me, “What is Thirty-One Gifts?” I picked the number 31 for my challenge because one of my businesses is Thirty-One Gifts.
Here’s what Founder and President Cindy Monroe has to say about Thirty-One Gifts:
“Our mission is to celebrate, encourage and reward women through offering quality products and an outstanding opportunity to become successful business owners. We have seen this mission played out across the years in the individual lives of so many women who now have their own “Thirty-One Story”.
Our products are exclusive . . . → Read More: What is Thirty-One Gifts?

My body is a bit sore and tired from all of the home improvement work that I did this past weekend, but I am glad to report that I did make great progress in both the downstairs ceiling and the master bedroom door. If time allows this week, I’ll be finishing those projects up throughout the week, and if not, then they will be my focus next weekend. I’m really pushing myself to be more of a “finisher” in projects (hence forcing myself to read the books already in process too), so will not start any new project until . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 10 – Quiet Time

I’ve been having a lot of fun (and getting a lot accomplished) so far with the 31 Goals in 31 Days Challenge. Here’s a recap and update of what I’ve done so far:
Day 1 – The Master To Do List – I’ve accomplished a significant amount of items that were listed here, as well as noticed “themes” of items that need to be done, such as household projects, and training videos that need to be watched.
Day 2 – The Prospect List – I’ve continued to call several people each day, and as a result, have booked several . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 9 – Ongoing Learning

Now that my filing system is all set up and revamped for the latest business papers that have come my way, and all the papers have been filed in their respective places, I know that I can find anything at a moment’s notice.
Throughout the week, I have been crossing off things on my Master To Do List every day as they are accomplished, and the one thing that really stood out to me all week was that there is a large number of things on my Master To Do List that are household related projects.
So, today’s goal . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 8 – Weekend Projects

Ahhh…it is so nice to be able to walk in (since we enter our home through the basement door) and see a nice, neat, uncluttered and clean basement! Just looking at the clutter every time I would leave the house and again every time when I would arrive back home was emotionally draining. Now, the clean space gives me a peaceful feeling every time I leave or come home. That is the power of decluttering. I’m excited to move on to another area next week for this goal!
Today’s goal is simple. I just received a shipment of paperwork . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 7 – File Papers

Yesterday we had a great time at our family meal for dinner, and I also saw an improvement on my gentle and quiet spirit goal as well. I’ve continued to call prospects, and read a book, and add to my Master To Do List.
So, today’s goal is to declutter. Now, I would actually love to send my entire family away for a week and declutter my entire home, but since that is a bit unrealistic, I’ll settle for decluttering one area a week.
Clutter adds stress and visually brings you down. It definitely drains you emotionally to see . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 6 – Declutter

Yesterday’s goal of a gentle and quiet spirit was eye-opening. There were several times during the day that the kids called from the other end of the house and I answered automatically without a gentle and quiet spirit. Then, in the instant after I would realize that I had not gone to my children to answer them directly. So, throughout the day there was a sense of awareness that was not there before, and by the end of the day, I will say that I did much better!
And, I am still calling prospects on my list daily, as . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 5 – Family Meal Time
