Menu Plan Monday – September 6

Happy Labor Day all!

Another week, another menu, and another week eating from the freezer!

I was so shocked when I did our pantry and freezer inventory – it’s really an eye-opening experience, and I had not done one in quite a while.  I was amazed at all there was to eat, right in our own home!  That’s in part thanks for freezer cooking.  I kept putting things in to the freezer, but not taking them out!  HA!

So, this week continues a week of eating out of the freezer and pantry.

Menu Plan Monday – August 30

It’s Menu Plan Monday!!  And, this week is super simple!

Over the weekend, I completely cleaned out and inventoried my pantry and freezer.  (Post coming soon on organizing your pantry!)

I found LOTS of leftovers when I went through everything (thanks to freezer cooking), so our menu plan for this week is:

LEFTOVERS!!

With children back in school, and myself on the CLEAN program (which I found leftover Lentil Dish in the freezer!), meals will be simple this week.  Pick, heat and serve!

To your success,

Dr. Laura

Menu Plan Monday – August 23

It’s really hard to believe that the summer is nearly over and children are starting school soon (or, in some cases, have started already!).

And, since it is the end of the summer, that also means lots of canning and preserving too, so I am thankful for the freezer stocked full of good food to eat.

This also makes it easier for me, too, since I will be on the CLEAN program, which is entirely different food.  This means I don’t have to worry about cooking much, because I already have several things . . . → Read More: Menu Plan Monday – August 23

Thursday: Chicken Fried Rice (made the CLEAN way with brown rice/wild rice and no soy sauce) (pasture-fed)

Menu Plan Monday – July 5

I can’t believe it’s July already!  Where is the summer going?  (Perhaps it is because until the past few days, it’s been 55 degrees and raining here … hardly feeling very summery!  But, now it’s 90 and HOT!  Nice…)

This past week, as I am working more on my modified elimination diet, and making better choices.  I am exploring raw food cooking, and other foods, and I must say, this requires MUCH more planning than my typical meal plan.  But, I can already see the benefits, as I am feeling better (and I haven’t even . . . → Read More: Menu Plan Monday – July 5

Menu Plan Monday – June 28 and My New Plan For Clean Elimination Diet

I was going through my freezer this past week, and I realized that I have an enormous amount of food already prepared – thanks to freezer cooking!  So, this week marks a deviation to my elimination diet plan as well as my usual menu planning.

I started my elimination diet last week, but found the large stash of food in the freezer to be a distraction – and of course, not wanting to waste any food, I did eat things that were not allowed on the elimination diet.  So, here’s my revamped plan – I . . . → Read More: Menu Plan Monday – June 28 and My New Plan For Clean Elimination Diet

Menu Plan Monday – June 21

Well, after a week off on vacation and lots of meals eaten out, I’m back to Menu Plan Monday.  I am also starting my Clean elimination diet today, so the menu has been adjusted accordingly.

Thank goodness for planning ahead since almost all of my quick and easy foods are gone on this elimination diet.  This is where it really comes in handy to plan ahead (like the wild rice that has to simmer for almost an hour!) for your meals.  Especially with soccer practice all week!

So, here’s what’s on tap this week:

Save Time And Money With Menu Planning

Menu planning is something I used to do quite often (albeit loosely), but I have strayed recently.  So, I’m getting back on track, since menu planning is something that you can do that is not only easy, but will also save you time and money.

I like to plan my menu for an entire month at a time, since I am usually grocery shopping only once a month.

First, I take stock of what I already have in my pantry.  This step must be first!  Most people plan the menu, then look to see what they already have . . . → Read More: Save Time And Money With Menu Planning
