Do You Picaboo?

Several months ago, Laura at Heavenly Homemakers had a little giveaway from a company I had never heard of…Picaboo.

In case you haven’t heard of Picaboo either, it’s an amazing company that creates the most fantastic scrapbooks ever!  Oh yeah, and it’s super simple and the software is FREE too!  Plus, the finished scrapbooks cost WAY less than what I have spent on my other scrapbooks done by hand.  And, it only took me a fraction of the time too!

So, I wanted to share with you how wonderful Picaboo is.  I ended up entering the giveaway (I had . . . → Read More: Do You Picaboo?

Frugal Friday – My Profound Lesson

If you are following along on this adventure of my life, you may know that I am currently in the middle of the 75 in 75 Challenge – that is getting rid of 75 items in 75 days.

In the midst of this challenge, I read a great ebook by Adam Baker called Sell Your Crap.  This was such a great book that I decided to purchase his other ebook Unautomate Your Finances.

It was in reading Unautomate Your Finances that I read something profound.

I was reading along just fine until I got to page . . . → Read More: Frugal Friday – My Profound Lesson

How to Declutter by Leo Babauta

Okay, I am downright addicted…to Zen Habits.  Be still my beating heart!

Where have I been all of these years, I really do not know.

But, just the other day, after discovering Man Vs. Debt (and then reading Sell Your Crap), I was also led to Leo Babauta of Zen Habits.

I’ve been reading ever since…devouring every drop of the written word on the entire site…okay, not quite every word.

You see, Leo is a minimalist.  And, he is also very much about organizing, decluttering, and living simply – all of which resonate with me at a deep level.

Tidy-Up Thursday – 75 in 75 Challenge – Week 1

Looking ahead to the end of the year (and the holiday that comes with it), I am realizing that I am in need of a “spring cleaning” in the fall.

Earlier this year, as I was decluttering, I put a bunch of stuff aside in the basement for me to go through “at a later time”.  Well, that was six months ago, and I figure now is “at a later time”.  Really, it’s long overdue.

Check out this lovely collection of stuff:

Some of these things need to be donated, and others can . . . → Read More: Tidy-Up Thursday – 75 in 75 Challenge – Week 1

Save Time and Money with Freezer Cooking

I’ve been on a bit of a frugal kick lately, and also making some changes to our lifestyle to make it a bit more healthy.  This got me thinking on one of my favorite time and money savers…freezer cooking!

What is freezer cooking?  Well, the definition is different for many people.  Some use this as a “once a month cooking” concept, where there is just one day of cooking, where you make all the meals for the month and then freeze them, ready to bake or to be eaten.  Some only do partial prep work for all the month’s . . . → Read More: Save Time and Money with Freezer Cooking
