At the beginning of July, I joined Mom’s Toolbox in Reading the Bible in 90 Days.
I was on track for a little while. Then two out-of-town trips happened. And summer with children’s activities happened.
And I got behind. WAY behind.
But, the commitment to finish on time is still there. We have less than one month to go, and I have 721 pages left. As of this morning, I am on page 327. According to Amy, I should be on page 768 today. That’s quite a bit behind.
So, instead of reading 12 pages a day, because . . . → Read More: Bible in 90 Days Update

As I was reading at LifeAsMom.com the other day, I came across an older post from earlier this year with a book reading challenge. Ahhh…this is right up my alley. So what if I am already 8 months into the year, right?
So, I got to thinking. I have definitely read several books this year, and remember most of them, so I thought I would try to recap what I’ve read so far in 2010, and what I’ve got on tap. Then, I’ll be all caught up with the Booking It challenge.

I was reading over at Organizing Junkie today and came across a wonderful blog post that reminded me to remember my priorities.
And, I also was visiting Mom’s Toolbox for another great post about honoring commitments, especially those we have made before God.
Off to read my Bible. Thank you Lord for the reminders today to keep my priorities straight: God, Family, Work.
Amen.
To your success,
Dr. Laura

What an amazing adventure the 31 Goals in 31 Days Challenge has been! I have been able to accomplish many things, and while some others are still “works in progress”, overall it was a great experience both personally and in my businesses.
I thought I would recap each of the 31 days so this will be a bit of a long post, and I’ll also let you know how I’m doing now toward these goals and what the outcome was. So, here we go…

Since today is a weekend again, I started out by thinking which weekend project I could complete. From last time, I did finish the downstairs ceiling (as well as cleaning the entire basement), and I am nearly finished with painting the sliding door (just need to scrape paint off the window and put back together). But, I couldn’t help but start another weekend project, simply because we had 80 degree weather, which, by the way, was a record-breaking temperature today! So, I went outside.
My project for today was to power wash the entire deck and walkway. My . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 29 – Love and Forgiveness

Catchy title, huh? Makes you kind of wonder what today’s goal is about exactly. Well, it’s about boundaries. It’s about stopping work when it is time to. The best part of being my own boss is that I get to work when I want, and the worst part of being my own boss is that I get to work when I want!
Often, the line between personal and business blurs, so that you find yourself working “all the time”. Really, that’s not the case, but you may be thinking about your business while doing something with your family, . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 25 – Stop Working!

Ahhh…all of the hard work has finally caught up to me. After working on weekend projects, organizing, decluttering, reading books, calling prospects, working my businesses, recording videos, editing web pages, making gifts, and just accomplishing a LOT of stuff in the past 20 days, I am tired. Happy and productive, but tired (really, this is my own fault, as I have not been sticking to my bedtime).
So, today’s goal is simple. Relax and recharge. I’m going to do something relaxing every week. Whether that is taking a luxurious bubble bath while listening to Beethoven, or taking a . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 21 – Relax and Recharge

Well, I guess I put this goal off as long as I could. Today is about adding exercise. My idea of exercise is really keeping up with the kids, cleaning, and organizing. And, while all of those things DO provide a level of exercise, I need to do something more regularly.
I’ve recently been to the orthopedic doc about my knee. I have chronic pain in my knee that comes and goes, and seems to be related to the fact that I sat in a strange way for 4 years many moons ago when I worked in customer . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 18 – Exercise

I am a night owl by nature, but after having children, have been forced to wake up early. Now there is much to do in the morning, and the days of sleeping in are a fond memory of mine.
The problem lies in the fact that I like to work at night, and get a lot accomplished then, so it’s hard for me to shut down and go to bed. I’m always thinking about “just one more thing” that could be done. (Now, don’t get the wrong idea, I don’t work every night!)
This, of course, makes for . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 13 – Night Night
