Tidy-Up Thursday AND Frugal Friday – Organize Your Pantry

This post is a Tidy-Up Thursday AND a Frugal Friday all rolled into one!  Since organizing your pantry is organization and it saves you time and money!

Have you ever bought something at the grocery store, only to come home and find that you already had that item hiding in the depths of your pantry?

Or, do you look in your pantry with a blank stare, wondering what you will make for dinner?

The answer is to organize your pantry.

I love to organize my pantry about twice a year, with updates every . . . → Read More: Tidy-Up Thursday AND Frugal Friday – Organize Your Pantry

Beautiful Blueberries

We just wrapped up blueberry season here, and every year we go pick blueberries.  It’s become a tradition.  We are blessed to have two different local places to go and pick blueberries!

This summer went by so quickly, that we just caught the tail-end of the blueberry season (whew!), and so I gathered up my two volunteers children and headed off for a few hours of manual labor fun.

We picked for about an hour (and would have gone longer, but someone had to go to the bathroom, and there are no bathrooms there!) and this is what . . . → Read More: Beautiful Blueberries

Clear Out The Clutter Challenge Week!

I’ve been reading over at MoneySavingMom.com (one of my favorite blogs for some great deals), and she recently had a Clear Out The Clutter Challenge.

Well, as you can imagine, as I was looking at her before and after pictures, I was impressed, and inspired.  Inspired enough to look around and notice that I need my own “spring cleaning”.  So, next week the children are on spring break and we are going to have our very own Clear Out The Clutter Challenge Week!

Now, normally, I would not suggest that you try to declutter your entire home in . . . → Read More: Clear Out The Clutter Challenge Week!

Your Business Is Like a Garden

As I was finishing up the power washing of my front deck the other day, I was thinking ahead to my next project – putting in a raised garden bed.

Time spent power washing is good for letting your mind wander, and contemplating life, so I was doing just that when it occurred to me that business is just like a garden!

In order to make my garden bed, I had to rototill the soil.  This is much like preparing yourself for business.  You need to get rid of limiting beliefs and fears that could hold you back . . . → Read More: Your Business Is Like a Garden

31 Goals in 31 Days – The Recap

What an amazing adventure the 31 Goals in 31 Days Challenge has been!  I have been able to accomplish many things, and while some others are still “works in progress”, overall it was a great experience both personally and in my businesses.

I thought I would recap each of the 31 days so this will be a bit of a long post, and I’ll also let you know how I’m doing now toward these goals and what the outcome was.  So, here we go…

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 31 – Come Home

WOW!  I can hardly believe it has been 31 days since I started the 31 Goals in 31 Days Challenge.  What a wonderful experience!!  I would encourage everyone to go through a challenge like this for yourself!  It is amazing what you learn along the way.  I’ll be posting a recap of the 31 days tomorrow, but on to today’s final goal…

Throughout this challenge I have been in awe at how many times along the way my priorities and activities have been confirmed.  While I have gotten many new goals accomplished in the past 31 days, both . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 31 – Come Home

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 29 – Love and Forgiveness

Since today is a weekend again, I started out by thinking which weekend project I could complete. From last time, I did finish the downstairs ceiling (as well as cleaning the entire basement), and I am nearly finished with painting the sliding door (just need to scrape paint off the window and put back together). But, I couldn’t help but start another weekend project, simply because we had 80 degree weather, which, by the way, was a record-breaking temperature today! So, I went outside.

My project for today was to power wash the entire deck and walkway. My . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 29 – Love and Forgiveness

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 21 – Relax and Recharge

Ahhh…all of the hard work has finally caught up to me.  After working on weekend projects, organizing, decluttering, reading books, calling prospects, working my businesses, recording videos, editing web pages, making gifts, and just accomplishing a LOT of stuff in the past 20 days, I am tired.  Happy and productive, but tired (really, this is my own fault, as I have not been sticking to my bedtime).

So, today’s goal is simple.  Relax and recharge.  I’m going to do something relaxing every week.  Whether that is taking a luxurious bubble bath while listening to Beethoven, or taking a . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 21 – Relax and Recharge

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 15 – A Card A Day

Yesterday, I did plan out groupings of the things I usually do as part of my Modular Day.  You can see my Task Worksheet that I created, and then I used the information to create index cards.  Those index cards are for me to flip through daily, much like my children flip through their “chorepacks” – doing one item at a time, until they are all completed.

One thing I noticed when I was doing the Modular Day planning, was that I had gotten away from one of the most positive things that I used to do – . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 15 – A Card A Day

31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 10 – Quiet Time

My body is a bit sore and tired from all of the home improvement work that I did this past weekend, but I am glad to report that I did make great progress in both the downstairs ceiling and the master bedroom door.  If time allows this week, I’ll be finishing those projects up throughout the week, and if not, then they will be my focus next weekend.  I’m really pushing myself to be more of a “finisher” in projects (hence forcing myself to read the books already in process too), so will not start any new project . . . → Read More: 31 Goals in 31 Days – Day 10 – Quiet Time
